Sonic Pool Leak Detection

We Detect, Locate & Repair Pool Leaks

At Go-To Pools we use Sonic and Electro-conductive advanced technology to pin-point the source of water loss.

We test every part of your pool from the liner, underground plumbing & fittings.
A comprehensive report of test results and repair assessment/quotation is included.

SIGNS OF POOL LEAKS

  • Adding water more than once a week (normal evaporation 0.4cm or 1/8" daily)

  • Air in the system (bubbles coming out of water returns)

  • Prime loss or hard to prime pump

  • Wet areas around pool

  • Excessive pool deck sinking or heaving

  • Water pooling around pump equipment

HOW WE LOCATE A LEAK

The three different types of leaks

found in swimming pools

Sonic Leak Detection uses the LeakTrac Sonic Acoustic & LeakTrac Conductive Liner Scanning devices, along with compressed air to find the water loss.

After a visual inspection and dye test, we pressure test your pool's plumbing to determine if any lines are leaking.

To locate underground leaks, we use a sensitive sonic listening device to pin-point the location.

We detect liner and structure leaks with two types of under water hydrophone ultra sensitive listening devices.

Using conductive technology, we can detect leaks around lights, stairs, and any fittings or drains to pinpoint the source of the leak.  Once the leak is located, we mark the spot and suggest the recommended repair.  A quotation for repair will be provided.

STRUCTURE

Structure leaks can occur if the system is on or off.  There are three different types of pools-Vinyl, Fiberglass and Concrete. Skimmers and light leaks are part of the structure.

After a visual inspection we may choose to use locating dye, a Hydrophone underwater listening device or a Vinyl Liner Leak Detector.

SUCTION

Skimmer, Vacuum & Main Drain Lines provide water to your pump filter system.  Leaks from these lines occur when the system is off.  When the system is on, air bubbles and priming issues will be introduced to the system.  We use pressurized air and a Sonic Listening Device to detect and locate the leak.  Leaks can be detected through concrete, dirt or asphalt.

PRESSURE

Pressure lines reintroduce water into your pool from the pump filtration equipment.  Leaks occur more when the system is on.

First, we check to see if water is leaking from the backwash.  Pool returns, deck-jets, slides and waterfalls all deal with pressure and by isolating lines and performing a pressure test, we can determine if a line is leaking.  We use pressurized air and a Sonic Listening Device to detect and locate the leak.  Leaks can be detected through concrete, dirt or asphalt.

HOW WE REPAIR LEAKS

Whether your leak requires a liner patch, underground pipe repair or a skimmer replacement, our team can carry out the task.

We will dive to the location of your leak and either patch or use epoxy filler. Vinyl liner repairs are patched at any location in the pool. Main drain, lights and deep end repairs can be carried out during the original leak detection appointment.

We repair Pump Filtration Equipment leaks, above ground pipe leaks, and underground line leaks.  We replace skimmers, pool returns and lights.  If a liner is beyond repair, we will provide a quotation for replacement.  No repair is beyond our ability, Experience Matters!
